Hilde Neugebauer
A long-standing professional in textile conservation.
In October 2023, she opened her new studio, Neugebauer-Textil.
Consultant at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Department of Conservation and Restoration, specializing in textiles.
Patented construction of professional hangers for liturgical vestments (chasubles, dalmaticas, and pluvials).
Founding member of the Austrian Association of Conservators-Restorers (ÖRV), serving on the board for nine years.
Hilde established her own GmbH in 2000, focusing on restoring interiors in palaces, federal buildings, abbey churches, and handling tapestries and historical textiles. In december 2021, all shares in this GmbH were transferred, and activities for the company were concluded.
Sixteen years in the Department of Conservation and Restoration, workshops of the Federal Monuments Office Arsenal.

Graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Department of Conservation and Restoration, specializing in textile conservation, in 2024 (Master of Arts).
Thesis: „The Textile Wall Covering of the ‘Scherbenzimmer’ in Loosdorf Castle, Lower Austria. Technological Examination, Discussion of Treatment Proposal and Restoration of a Sample Area.“
Internships in various institutions, including the Museum of Military History in Vienna (2019, 2021, 2023), the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna (2022), Art Conservation de Rigueur in San Francisco (2022), and the Museo Textil de Oaxaca, Mexico (2023).

Employed with Neugebauer-Textil since 2024.

Internships and conservation campaigns in various institutions, including the Weltmuseum Wien (2021), the Ethnographic Museum in Kruja, Albania (2022), and the Landesmuseum Innsbruck (2023).

Studied at the Technical University of Cologne, Department of Conservation and Restoration, focusing on textiles and archaeological fibers in 2020.
